Redirect Checker

Review a URL redirect and check whether the final destination looks correct.

Check a redirect

Enter the original URL, final URL and redirect type if known.

This V1 checker reviews the redirect information you enter. A future version may automatically follow live redirect chains.

Redirect basics

Redirects help browsers and search engines move from an old URL to a new one. For most permanent page moves, a 301 redirect or 308 redirect is preferred. Temporary redirects like 302 or 307 are better when the move is not permanent.
